Welcome to the new Boston Globe Online!

If you are surfing the web using one of AOL's Internet browsers, you may experience slight difficulties using The Boston Globe Online and other popular web sites.

Problems most often encountered by AOL users include:

1. Inability to view background colors (the navigational column at left should appear "olive" or "fleshtone" depending on your monitor);

2. "Deconstructing" tables that upset the layout of pages (if there is not a navigational column at left, you're experiencing this problem now!); and

3. Slow or sluggish service that culminates in an "error" message claiming that The Boston Globe Online is not accessible (which is almost never true).

You may get better results by considering an Internet Service Provider, or by updating to AOL version 3.0 (you can determine your current version by clicking on "Help" and selecting "About America Online" -- the next screen should include the version you are using).

Here's how to update to AOL 3.0:

  1. Launch your current version of America Online
  2. Click on "Go To," which can be found on the top menu bar
  3. Select "Find" from the "Go To" menu of options
  4. Click on "AOL 3.0"
  5. Follow the instructions to download AOL version 3.0.
We hope this has been helpful. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at any time.

Thank you.
