The race is on for Birmingham's post
(12/4/2001)

The battle to own the Sox
(11/27/2001)
BARBARIANS AT home plate. How much will one of them pay to watch the Boston Red Sox from the owner's box? Binding bids for the Yawkey Trust's controlling interest in the team must be submitted by noon, Thursday. A new owner could be chosen by early December. Were terrorists responsible, as they were for the Sept. 11 attacks on the Pentagon and World Trade Center? Federal officials responded cautiously to the obvious question, saying they could not rule any specific cause in or out.
An electoral feast for third-termer Menino
(11/8/2001)
FEAST YOUR eyes, Bay State voters. These are your leaders, pictured at lunch Tuesday, reveling in the remains of their day - election day. What a smug, content, and self-satisfied lot they are, stuffed with a hearty meal and the confidence that comes from knowing that the political status quo prevails yet again in Massachusetts.
