Hancock on the block?
(11/28/2001)
John Hancock Financial Services is a Boston icon. Its 62-story, glass tower headquarters is the signature building of Boston's skyline. Its brand is among the best-known in all of financial services. And in the community, few have played a more aggressive role in recent years. Where would the Boston Marathon, the city's own signature event every year, be today if Hancock had not agreed to underwrite it 15 years ago?

Root for the home team
(11/21/2001)
When it comes to sports, every fan needs a team to pull for. Call me a homer, but here in the ninth inning in the race for the Red Sox, my team is the home team, Joe O'Donnell & Co.

Who shot Peter Blute?
(11/16/2001)
Who is Michael Taylor and who hired him to help take out Massport boss Peter Blute?

Fixing Massport
(11/14/2001)
Marshall Carter, the retired chairman of State Street Corp. who was appointed by Acting Governor Jane Swift to investigate what went wrong at Massport, is nearing the end of his mission. Carter's view: There is less wrong with Massport than the people at the top who have been running it.

A piece of the puzzle
(11/9/2001)
Who shot Peter Blute? It is one of the most delicious whodunits in all of Massachusetts politics. It has been two years since Blute was caught in those stunning photographs on the booze cruise to nowhere, a misadventure that made a woman named Gidget famous if just for a minute and transformed Blute from the powerful executive director of the Massachusetts Port Authority into just another morning talk-show host trying to compete in the brutal ratings game.

After the election
(11/7/2001)
Congratulations, Mr. Mayor, on your overwhelming election to a third term. Let's hope this is your most productive four years and that you bury all that predictable talk about third term-itis.
