"Behind Enemy Lines" is a slick, high-energy workout for men in uniform, and it may to a certain extent ride the coattails of the current popularity of the US military in light of events in Afghanistan. But it's no more than recruiting-poster deep, depriving Gene Hackman and Owen Wilson of the chance to really get their teeth into three-dimensional characters.
